Richfield, Ohio – August 30, 2021 -- Group Management Services (GMS), a Professional Employer Organization headquartered in Richfield, OH, is excited to announce the winner of its new GMS Excellence in HR scholarship, Andrew Schwertner. Andrew is a sophomore attending Miami University in Oxford, OH. He is currently studying business, specializing in sales and marketing.
Andrew has always been very involved in the community and loves giving back. He currently has more than 250 volunteer hours. This past spring, he helped develop a business plan for a dog waste removal company “Dapper Dog Waste Management”. For this, he has created uniforms, car decals, brochures, and advertisements.
When asking Anthony why he wants to start a career in sales, he said, “I am an entrepreneur at heart and have a passion for working with people”. Aspiring to open his own business one day, he reflected, “Mike Kahoe is someone I look up to and would like to start my own path after college”.
The GMS Excellence in HR scholarship is part of GMS’ wider college recruiting program, which provides internship positions for students throughout the year. Internship positions provide students the chance to network with experienced professionals, grow and expand their skill set, and become familiar with the industry.
The $2500 scholarship is part of the company’s ongoing anniversary celebration, this year marking its 25th year in business.
