CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – August 31st, 2022 – Employees in GMS’ Charlotte, North Carolina office participated in a backpack drive with The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. They have assisted approximately 30 million Americans annually since 1865.
The Charlotte GMS office contributed to the Back To School Backpack Drive. Boys & Girls Club members preparing to go back to school might struggle with being able to provide their children with the necessary supplies. GMS employees purchased backpacks and filled them with the following:
- Pencils
- Index cards
- Colored pencils
- Glue sticks
- Pencil cases
- Kids scissors
- Colored markers
- Wide-ruled notebooks
- Erasers
- Colored plastic folders
