GMS Cares Volunteers Support Lions Tigers & Bears

SAN DIEGO, California—August 18, 2025 — Employees from GMS’ San Diego, California office spent the day volunteering at Lions Tigers & Bears, a federally and state-licensed big cat and exotic animal sanctuary.

The volunteer team split into two groups to maximize their impact. One group took on a large-scale project, sanding and sealing a newly constructed building on the property to help preserve and protect the structure for future use. The other group worked hands-on with sanctuary upkeep, including cleaning enclosures and assisting with livestock care to ensure the resident animals have a safe, comfortable environment.

About Lions Tigers & Bears

Lions Tigers & Bears is a nonprofit rescue facility dedicated to providing a safe, lifetime home for abused and abandoned big cats, bears, and other exotic animals. Their mission is to end the exotic animal trade by offering sanctuary, education, and advocacy. Since its founding in 2002, the organization has rescued more than 60 animals from neglect, abuse, and exploitation, allowing them to live out their lives in peace.

Visitors and supporters can make a difference by touring the sanctuary, becoming a member, volunteering, or donating to sustain the care of these incredible animals.
