GMS Cares Volunteers Support L.A. Works
LOS ANGELES, California—November 18, 2025 — Employees from GMS’ Los Angeles office spent the day volunteering for L.A. Works. Volunteers helped load shopping carts and vehicles with groceries during their public food distributions that occur every Tuesday morning. Activities included gently handling food products, such as bagged fruits and vegetables and loading groceries into shopping carts and/or vehicles. L.A. Works is a major food recovery center, saving hundreds of thousands of pounds of food from landfills every year. The food is repurposed and used to feed the hungry.
About L.A. Works
Founded in 1991, L.A. Works is a nonprofit volunteer action center dedicated to harnessing the power of community service to create a more equitable Los Angeles. Each year, the organization mobilizes over 25,000 volunteers to tackle critical issues such as climate action, housing insecurity, education equity, and food access. Through hands-on projects and partnerships with local nonprofits, L.A. Works offers opportunities for individuals, families, and corporate teams to make a tangible difference.
