GMS Los Angeles Volunteers For Heal The Bay's Coastal Cleanup

LOS ANGELES, California – October 16, 2024 – Employees from GMS’ Los Angeles office proudly participated in Heal the Bay’s statewide Coastal Cleanup. Our dedicated team spent the day removing litter from California’s waterways, working in small groups to clean up neighborhoods, local parks, beaches, and other waterfront areas. Their efforts play a role in preventing waste from becoming marine debris, contributing to a healthier environment.

About Heal The Bay’s Statewide Coastal Cleanup

California has over 3,400 miles of stunning shoreline, home to diverse marine life, including sea otters, orcas, dolphins, and sea birds. Each year, volunteers join Heal the Bay’s statewide Coastal Cleanup to remove litter from California’s waterways, ensuring a healthier environment for both wildlife and humans. This year, communities united again, collecting more than 19,209.47 pounds of trash.

Whether near the coast or inland, everyone can participate in Coastal Cleanup by cleaning up local parks, neighborhoods, and waterways, helping to prevent waste from becoming marine debris. Even if you’re not currently in California or you’re not physically able to take part, you can still help the Golden State’s waterways stay healthy by donating to the California Coastal Commission’s efforts.

About GMS Cares: GMS Cares is GMS’ philanthropic program that seeks to give back to the communities in which we serve. The program is dedicated to providing meaningful work and spreading compassion through volunteer efforts.
