How to Log In to Employee Benefits
Enter your username and password in the Benefits portal. Note: Your Benefits Login is Different than your Payroll Login.
If this is your first time accessing the Benefits portal, you will need to create login credentials using the following steps.
Follow These Steps to Create Your Employee Benefits Login Credentials
- Go to the Benefits portal and click the “New Users” button.
- Read the License Agreement and click on the “Agree” button.
- Enter your name, Social Security Number without dashes, and date of birth.
- You will be prompted to create a User Account, including username, email address, password, and security questions.
- This will complete your User Account registration. Click “Finish” to finalize the process. You will then be redirected to you Benefits portal.
Cigna Update - Behavioral Health
A situation arose on Oct. 28, where it appeared that Behavioral Health was not being covered by Cigna and we were having individuals turned away, not accepted, etc.
The good news is Cigna did not discontinue behavioral health. In fact, they did the opposite and rolled all behavioral health into the primary PPO network. This went into effect on Sept. 1. At that time, Cigna redirected the behavioral health website to mycigna.com and issued a statement that mental and physical health are equally important to a person’s wellbeing and no one should be limited to one or the other. They expected this transition to be seamless, however a lot of their contracted providers took issue with this approach as it lessened their accreditation as a mental health provider when lumped together in an overall PPO contract (impacts provider on funding, grants, and reimbursement between providers/Cigna).
Rather than force providers into a single contract, Cigna is allowing specialized contracts whereas medical and behavioral health can be negotiated separately. Using Akron Children’s Hospital as an example, the facility elected to roll behavioral health into their existing PPO contract, but the Akron Children’s Physician Group does not want to bundle contracts. We should expect to see some disruption as it relates to behavioral health for the next 30-60 days as providers renegotiate their contracts. Unfortunately, there will be disruption until contracts are finalized.
