GMS Cares Volunteers Support Jackson Woods Park
MT. LAUREL, New Jersey—October 24, 2025 — Employees from GMS’ Greater Philly office spent the day volunteering for Jackson Woods Park. Volunteers contributed to ongoing park restoration efforts through a variety of hands-on outdoor tasks. Activities included clearing and cutting back invasive vines and shrubs, weeding garden beds, spreading wood chips, planting native flowers and tree seedlings, and constructing protective tree cages. These efforts supported the revitalization of natural spaces and helped create a healthier, more sustainable environment for the community to enjoy.
About Jackson Woods Park
Located in Long Branch, NJ, Jackson Woods Park is a 13-acre wetland space undergoing a remarkable transformation thanks to the dedication of local volunteers and community partners. The revitalization is led by the Friends of Jackson Woods, a grassroots group formed in 2018 with a mission to restore the park’s natural beauty and ecological health. Their vision is to create a serene, sustainable urban park where nature and the arts thrive together.
In partnership with Jersey Cares, a nonprofit organization committed to meaningful volunteer engagement across New Jersey, the Earth Keepers initiative mobilizes volunteers to support this restoration effort. Activities include removing invasive species, planting native flora, building tree cages, and maintaining trails. Together, these efforts help preserve the park’s unique ecosystem and make it a welcoming space for both residents and visitors.
